Why is it more acceptable to talk about political issues in social settings in France than in the U.S?

By admin ~ May 3rd, 2012 @ 8:37 am
For my French class I need to write why it is more acceptable to talk about political issues in France than in the U.S. Why would that be? I was thinking maybe something along the lines that there are many political parties in France compared to the U.S. and this might influence how strongly people are associated with a ‘left’ or ‘right’ party. Any suggestions and ideas as to why it is more socially acceptable to talk politics in France than in America would be great! Thanks.

The premise sounds false. Politics is talked about in social settings all over the country at any given moment. Wish I could help

I would write why your teacher is trying to indoctrinate you into socialism.

It would appear so. We need computers to do anything involving connecting with or involving other people.

It’s not more acceptable. Look what happens every time poor Brigitte Bardot opens her mouth.

Without a source I don’t see how this it is possible argue this one way or the other.
