A party of people who make up their own minds of who to vote for, not by party affiliation but by what they hear and read and research to learn who the candidates are and how they may behave in their jobs.

An Independent is not exactly a party. An independent chooses not to declare for any other party. That does not mean they do not support a candidate from one of the major parties, but they are not Democrat, Republican, Green or Libertarian nor any organized party.
